Casting Anger
Tasked with making a object to be used in multiple casts molding. I created a face seething with sharp edges and curved appeal.
Maquette made from plasteline. Dimensions, H 8'in, L 10'in, W 6'in
Molding Process
Created the teeth first and formed the face around it
This piece took on a life of its own going from a palm sized T-rex head into a four pound representation of the emotion anger.
Casting Process
The inner cast (teal) made of dragon skin silicone mold and thickener.  The outer cast of Plaster of Paris and burlap.
Oil from the plasteline mixed with some parts of dragon skin, stopping it from solidifying properly in areas. Creating holes and spacing in some of the forms.
Final Cast
Final casted piece made in plaster using a three part mold. A lot of detail and form was lost due to shifting of the inner cast during the hardening process.
